Find Lucy (and Viv) Among the Stars!

The poster above was taken from a 1970s (probably early 1970s) issue of the late, lamented After Dark magazine. I believe James M. Pearsall is the one who drew this magnificent piece (and signed it in the lower left corner). It's so wonderful, and so different from any other movie star art I've ever seen, that I wanted to share it with you. This unique showgirl is made up entirely of the names of all Hollywood female stars who had appeared in films (up to that point...that is, the time this piece was published).

Lucille Ball's name is there, as are those of at least two of her I Love Lucy co-stars, Vivian Vance and Elizabeth Patterson (Mrs. Trumbull), plus hundreds, if not thousands, of other female stars, celebrities and supporting players. In fact, many of the stars' names are placed near parts of the body they were closely associated with during their careers (for example, Betty Grable's name is on the leg garter). All had in common that they had made at least one movie. I could spend days looking at this, finding my favorites and more obscure actresses, and I hope you'll have the same kind of fun with it. Enjoy!
