Have You Seen This Robot?
The mechanical person you see at left was created by the great artist Dan Adkins. Known for his work in comics, I picked it up last year at a New York Comic Con. The guy who sold it to me had no idea of its provenance, but said it might have been the cover of a sci-fi paperback book.I fell in love with this forlorn-looking machine, and would love to know where it was originally used...or if indeed it ever was used anywhere. I've fantasized an entire science fiction myth while staring at it in my living room — was it left behind in some mass exodus? abandoned by its owners in the desert? or is that the sea? — and I need the truth!
