Look at me, Ma! Top of the World!
Actually, Top of the City...the Geocities Top of the City award, that is...of which this site — *sob* thank you all so much — was one of the initial recipients.It was all so long ago. Thirteen years, to be exact. It was a time of the early Internet, when almost
every site, it seemed, gave out an award to their favorite other sites. I got a lot of them. They might not have been worth much to anyone else, but they meant a lot to me. At top left is the site as it look in the late 1990s. At right is a version of the current front page.
The rest of awards I won are listed below. follow. In checking these links recently, I found that most of them have either disappeared or totally changed the content of their sites. Ah, life. It's all about change, innit? So ...Instead of showing the awards and linking to the sites, I will humbly list my past Web awards.* The folks at Searchking.com were nice enough to award this site "King of the Web" status.
* I was also a "Wetwired Webcenter Approved Site" and a "Graphix Kingdom Select Site."
* I have been listed in the Fansite directory since 1997.
* Webmistress Chari awarded me her "I Like This Site" award.
* I won the sparkling "Del Rubio Triplets 3-Rubies" award.
* Personal Connections gave me their "Site of the Day" award.
* Market-tek.com honored me with its Design Award.
* I was "Too Cool." Hey, wait a minute, I still am!
* Finally, I was Mindspring's "Best of the Web."But enough about me. Let's talk about you. What do you think of my site? Seriously, there are so many other wonderful things out there in cyberspace, and what follows is a very selective list of my favorite places. As always, travel at your own risk.
